These five things let us confirm what's possible before we set off.
- Your registration number
- The make and model of your vehicle
- Exactly where the vehicle is parked
- Whether the engine is running or the keys are inside
- Whether you have any other keys for the vehicle
While You Wait
Please avoid these — they often turn a straightforward job into an expensive repair.
- Don't force the door or window — modern vehicles damage easily and expensively
- Don't try to wedge the frame open with a tool, it bends the door skin
- Don't leave children or pets in the vehicle while you wait somewhere else
- Don't attempt to hot-wire or bypass the immobiliser yourself

RS Keys is fully mobile and island-based — we aren't travelling over from the mainland to reach you.
Proof Of Ownership
For key supply we may ask to see identification and proof of ownership, such as the V5C. This protects our customers from key theft — vehicle security is something we take seriously.
For a straight lockout where keys are visible inside the vehicle and you can demonstrate you have access to it, the process is usually quicker. We'll explain what's needed when you call.
